The education process is ongoing for green building contractors including LeDuc & Dexter, who are members of Build it Green, a national education based organization that trains contractors, engineers and architects in green building practices.  Tom LeDuc,a Certified Green Building Professional who has studied under instructor Gary Klein, recently taught a Build It Green class in Oakland in hot water practices.  “The response from the students in that class, mostly contractors, was very gratifying – there’s a tremendous amount of interest in green building now”, says LeDuc.

LeDuc is also completing a six-month certificate study program through Longview Education Associates, an educational entity focused on Green Building.  Longview was founded by Bruce Hammond and Pete Gang, two prominent Sonoma County building professionals.  The course is offered through the U.S. Green Building Council – Redwood Empire Chapter, which Gang and Hammond co-founded eight years ago.  Tom LeDuc is a board member of the Redwood Empire Chapter.
