LeDuc & Dexter is currently applying design/build concepts to the residential energy retrofits they are working on with performance contractor Pinnacle Homes. “We are the experts in our area of green plumbing and how it relates to the overall project, so our plumbing designs benefit the contractor and the homeowner”, says LeDuc. Custom homes have always been the focus of LeDuc & Dexter’s residential design/build efforts and so far that has been the focus of their energy retrofit projects.

The essence of a design/build is team work. Owners, general contractors, engineers and sub-contractors work together in a non-traditional method, as opposed to bidding, to produce a fast paced, well orchestrated game plan that saves time and money for owners seeking sophisticated results. This is especially true in green building, which includes new products and energy retrofitting.

LeDuc & Dexter’s design/build experience in the commercial sector, which includes numerous state-of-the-art winery facilities, lends itself to the greening of hot water systems and water conservation. Energy costs and water usage are two huge challenges facing most wineries and LeDuc & Dexter offer energy retrofitting, green practices and products, like solar water heating, to address these challenges.
