CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL
AWWA Cross-Connection Control Certified Plumbing Services
Backflow Prevention & Cross-Connection Control Throughout Sonoma County & the North Bay
At LeDuc & Dexter Plumbing, we are proud to be certified in Cross-Connection Control through the American Water Works Association (AWWA). This certification reflects our commitment to protecting public health, maintaining water quality, and helping our customers stay compliant with California and local water authority requirements throughout Sonoma County and the North Bay.
What is Cross-Connection Control?
A cross-connection is any point where potable (drinking) water can come into contact with non-potable water or contaminants. Without proper protection, these connections can allow backflow—a reversal of water flow that can introduce chemicals, bacteria, or other pollutants into the clean water supply.
Cross-connection control focuses on identifying these risks and preventing contamination through the proper installation, testing, and maintenance of backflow prevention devices.

Who Cross-Connection Control Applies To
Backflow prevention requirements apply to a wide range of properties and water systems

Vineyards, farms, and landscape irrigation
Fire Sprinkler Systems

Properties on Well Systems
Well-served properties are not always exempt — protection may still be required depending on your setup

Typically not subject to routine municipal enforcement, but backflow prevention is strongly recommended—especially where irrigation, boilers, hydronic systems, or filtration equipment are present.
